Hypothyroidism? Not diagnosed

I am fairly sure I have thyroid problems, mainly hypothyroidism. The front of my neck has been swollen since November last year, palpitations, low pulse, tiredness, muscles feeling weak, puffy and baggy eyes, weight gain, blood rushes. My mum has hypothyroidism and 2 other autoimmune problems and the only thing prevalent in my family history is heart disease. Can anyone please help advise?

Thank you

Dec-18

TSH 5.8 (0.2 - 4.2)

Ferritin 27 (30 - 400)

Vitamin D 43.3 (vitamin D deficiency)

Your TSH is suggesting hypothyroidism. Anything over 3 is actually hypo. And your ferritin and vit D are both much too low. What has your doctor said about these results?

To find out if you have Hashi's, you need your TPO and Tg antibodies tested. :)

Thank you. My TPO was 85 (<34) and doctor said my immune system is attacking my thyroid but that was it

I take vit D 800iu and doctor can't understand why my vit D has halved over the 6 months when I get tested

That's because 800iu is just about enough to keep a good level the same or allow it to drop only slightly through the winter; it's not enough to increase a deficient level. You should be on a loading dose if you are deficient. That's what the guidelines say.

Yes you are. I felt very ill when mine was 3.68 but actually further tests which I had to insist on showed my T3 was below even the nhs’s extended ranges. Your ferritin is also very low

Thank you. I was told no action needed on the ferritin because my complete blood count did not make sense. I will go back and address this
