I’ve an update on my GP lowering my T4 because of negligible TSH (I’m Hashi and self-medicate with T3). I got a second opinion from one of the GP partners at the practice and I’d barely started to explain the problem when she immediately said yes to start raising my dose back up to where is was when I felt good. Amazing! And she’s going to monitor my bloods and vitamins.
So…I’ve now reached the top of the list to see the NHS endo and have an appointment. I have a dilemma: I think I’m going to get good care from my GP so what do I ask the endo for?
(after reading stories on here I’m worried that they may be TSH-tunnelled, diabetes orientated and I’ll be tinkered with again)

I'd reiterate what SeasideSusie states. If we've got a doctor or endocrinologists who goes more upon the symptoms of the patient than the TSH, that's the one to consult. I would bet the doctor who suggested raising dose may (or a relative) have hypo.
Thank you SeasideSusie and shaws - you've confirmed my gut feeling! I was worried I might be missing out by not going, but I've had creeping doubts so thought I'd ask on here
Prescribe T3. GPs are not allowed to do that any more, but there's no guarantee you'd get a T3-friendly endo, or even one who know anything about the thyroid, unless you use one on the list from TUK, so I wouldn't take up the appointment.
