You were asked, in reply to your post a couple of months ago, to post the reference ranges for your test results, but you didn't do it.

We can help if you give us information. Please post your latest test results - including the reference ranges (they vary from lab to lab). If you are gaining weight you could be undermedicated.

I've been on T3 added to Levo for over 2 years and I haven't lost any weight, but if I eat sensibly I don't gain weight.

Ideally we need results and ranges for

TSH

FT4

FT3

Thyroid antibodies

Vit D - give unit of measurement as well as range

B12 - give unit of measurement as well as range

Folate

Ferritin

Your previous post had no ranges on....members can not comment on results that don't have ranges

Are you in the UK?

Your antibodies are high so you have Hashimoto's

Are you on strictly gluten free diet?

What supplements do you take?

Essential to test vitamin D, folate, B12 and ferritin

Hashimoto's affects the gut and leads to low stomach acid and then low vitamin levels

Low vitamin levels affect Thyroid hormone working

Poor gut function can lead leaky gut (literally holes in gut wall) this can cause food intolerances. Most common by far is gluten. Dairy is second most common.

According to Izabella Wentz the Thyroid Pharmacist approx 5% with Hashimoto's are coeliac, but over 80% find gluten free diet helps, sometimes significantly. Either due to direct gluten intolerance (no test available) or due to leaky gut and gluten causing molecular mimicry (see Amy Myers link)

Changing to a strictly gluten free diet may help reduce symptoms, help gut heal and slowly lower TPO antibodies

Ideally ask GP for coeliac blood test first

I have found slow steady weight loss after T3 added 18 months ago. Now lost about 22lbs. About another 2 stone to loose

But it's absolutely essential to make sure all vitamins are regularly tested, and regular supplements to maintain vitamin D, folate, B12 at optimal levels.

Others very often need to improve ferritin. (In my case it's often too high)

Plus as I have autoimmune thyroid disease diagnosed by high thyroid antibodies, absolutely strictly gluten free diet and absolutely strictly soya free diet (including soya lecithin)

Also low sugar and low dairy
