Lost T3 Prescription

Hello Dear People.

I have more than likely suffered from hypothyroidism for several decades, finally receiving a definitive diagnosis of 'Profound Hypothyroidism' at Emergency Admissions Sydney in September 2016. My TSH reading at that time was a staggering 148, I had lost my ability to speak and could no longer stand unassisted. I wont include my long list of associated symptoms here right now.....But overall my quality of life was at Zero by that point.

At the onset, I was prescribed Thyroxine replacement at 50mg, then slowly titrated to 200mg, for which I am still being prescribed. On paper, my thyroid levels read as normal....yet I was anything but well. Invasive debilitating symptoms continued to define my life.

After extensive research, I sold my home and moved interstate for consultation with a thyroid specialist who promptly recommended and prescribed added T3 of 10mg per day to my 200mg of thyroxine. The difference within about 10 days was nothing short of astounding...the overall wellness I experienced only emphasised how dreadfully unwell I had been for all those many years. No I'm not swinging from chandeliers or creating masterpieces...but I am now able to at least take care of myself and dare to dream of a future.

Unfortunately I was hit with soul crushing news last week from my prescribing doctor that he is now unable to continue my T3 treatment...he was very apologetic but claimed that his hands are tied. I want to scream and shout and lay blame...I want to cry but tears wont come. So I will do the next best thing....I will reach out here in the hope that someone...anyone can recommend or direct me to a safe reliable supply of T3 in South Australia. I am terrified to buy anything online...as one has no idea whether it is genuine or what they are actually taking. Please please help me.

I totally appreciate that these sources cant be disclosed in this open forum...but if anyone can assist via email, I will be forever in your debt.

As this is a UK based forum, unless there are any other Australian members who know of suppliers who will post to Australia, then I'm not sure our UK members will be able to help. However, it's against posting guidelines to name suppliers on the open forum so any replies will be sent by private message.

I will close your post to replies so that no information is inadvertently posted here.
