I have Hashimotos’s and am suffering with a very tender scalp. I have tried all forms of Levo and now am on tirosent which has no side effects as the other forms have. I do not have a lot of hair loss but the sore scalp is very annoying. I cannot stand to go to a salon and have resorted to cutting my own hair! Has anyone out there had a similar problem and how did you treat it? I have read ALL the literature on thyroid issues, am on the suggested diet and have done all the tests. I am in optimal ranges except my t3 is low normal. I cannot take Cytomel as it causes sore gums which clear up after stopping it. Thanks for your suggestions.

Scalp tenderness
I certainly have autoimmune issues as I had some mild scalp issues before I was diagnosed with Hashi. The soreness came on as I took the Levo. I have greatly reduced my antibodies by diet and life style changes and I feel fine except the scalp issue.
Sometimes my scalp is tender, this week in fact I don't know why it comes and goes. I have no thyroid and no Hashi my hair is thick and I have it thinned when having it cut.
Weird I have just cut my NDT from 2.5 grains to 2 grains this could be the reason?
Same here sometimes my scalp is tender and it feels strange to move my hair. It comes and goes I think it’s sex hormone related and of course I do blame it on Hashimoto’s
My scalp is unbearably sore along with most of my skin. It also has glue like patches on it and going to a Hairdressing Salon is out of the question. It is four years now since I was last able to have it coloured at all.
