Only trying to get help, and suffering badly, but I seem to be upsetting someone!

Of course, nobody will see this , because I have been banned again!

I am only sharing my experience and info!

Why ban me?

patez, I think your browser or maybe security is doing this. I'll try to find out from administrators what is happening. Evidently if this goes through you are not banned. What happens that you can continue after see "banned"? Did you change browsers?

patez profile image
patez in reply toHeloise

Nope.

Not changed browser.

My previous post has obviously then been closed?

Hey I just discuss things, amongst other people who have the same problems, but some people reply with no actual real support or help!

I am sick. I have sought a 2nd opinion from a doc who may be very knowledgeable, but I get knocked back with, "do not follow his advice" and "it will make me even more sick"?

Not really what I want to hear?

I just want to get better!

So what if the local doc "may" be putting me on medication that "may" make me worse?

I may make me better though?

It certainly can't make me worse!

I am rock bottom already! It can't get worse!

Tez

Just wondering if you are going to reply.

Everyone on here helps voluntarily. People just want to help.

I won't be available late in the evening.

Have also replied to you on Pernicious Anemia forum and sent a message but not heard back from you.

Hope you get the medical help you need over there and start feeling better soon.

You have not been banned. If you had been banned you would not be able to post on the forum.

Only HealthUnlocked (who host this forum) has the capacity to ban members, and if a member is banned then their account is removed and all posts and any private messages they have sent will be removed.

Your previous post has been closed to further replies, that is not banning you.

patez, You have definitely not been banned. If you were banned, no-one would be able to see this post.

Please contact Health Unlocked support team about this, as this is something beyond the control of the forum admin team. You will need to describe as clearly as possible what it is that's happening to make you believe you've been banned.

Here's the link to contact them support.healthunlocked.com/...

Hi again Tez.

You haven't been banned.

It's possible you have malnutrition rather than a Thyroid problem.

Is your doctor still refusing to test B1 (Thiamine) ?

If so, you could see if you can buy suitable supplements yourself.

Does your doctor know about everything that you put in your post on the Pernicious Anemia forum?

I have sent you a message with more detail. Please look up the two conditions I have mentioned.

If I can help with any more information then please let me know on here or via a message.

Patez, first, you have posted on a public blog and expose yourself to all who want to reply. Admin probably helped you by closing the post but I assure you most people here are trying to help you by teaching what they have learned through their experience.

Secondly, oh yes, you CAN get worse and while you may not notice right now, pharmaceuticals can make you feel better while undermining other organs. I've seen too many friends under a doctor's care. They are treated for one thing and then it causes gout so they treat that and the pain is so bad they treat that and then they are on dialysis and then they are dead. I don't know about all drugs and if that's the way you want to handle your condition and some are safer than others, go ahead. However if that drug worsens a thyroid function don't yell at the messenger. I think drugs may usurp receptors but I'm not certain exactly how they interfere.

The responders have usually been through it all and know what they are saying. It is a difficult position which is the reason they are here to help.

Look, follow your doctor's advice and then if you are not doing better come back or try an alternative functional doctor.

Excellent reply!

Believe me, I have only just very recently saved my life from a very severe adverse reaction after being prescribed Lamictal, to help my bipolar! I had 2 weeks to live, and if it had not been for the internet!, I would now be dead. Luckily I survived by immediately stopping taking it. I am always on the look out for adverse reactions.

The local doc has told me to watch out for a sore throat or swollen tongue after taking the Carbimazole.

So yes. I know how badly some medication can effect you.

You have no idea how bad 2018 has been for me!

New year, new start to hopefully getting better.

I hope that I can share my experiences on here in the future, if the administrators will allow it!

Sharing and caring is a motto of mine!

We learn a lot from being open and honest!

That's good to hear. I thought at first you felt you were not being helped.

I think there is something insidious going on with drugs but I have a suspicious mind.

I'm sure you can get better in 2019 and I guess you can just ignore the banned sign when you see it. Very best wishes!

Hi again patez

I know what u mean about adverse reactions to medication..I was diagnosed in September 2018..with hyperthyroidism I was given carbimazole I take other drugs to I have fibromayalgia arthritis and ME..they never looked to see if the carbimazole would interfere with my drugs..anyway I threw up all the time and was eventually rushed to hospital where I was taken off them...then I tried ptu but the same happend I threw up i felt awfull on the medication..my GP left me for 7 weeks with only beta blockers..he now wants me back on PTU with anti sickness tablets..I'm the same as you I feel like my life is not worth living if I have to live it like this..I feel like I'm a prisoner in my own home..I'm dreading going bk on PTU it's my first one today..I do hope you can get sorted I have learned one thing I dont think doctors really look into thiyroid problems and just seem to let you get on with it even if you are struggling with it..it sucks!!!!

Kind regards

Karen

Not sure why you think you have been banned when you clearly can still post?

As to advice from this forum, it is patient to patient. Many of us are here to hear each other's experience and learn from one another. However, it is up to us individually to learn about the condition and take responsibility for our treatment. If you wish to trust your doctor, you are free to do so. If you come here for advice, be prepared to hear different opinions, but in the end you must decide for yourself what is best for you.

Good luck!

Looking at your results, I'm a bit confused what carbimazole would do for you.

Carbimazole raises TSH, and lowers T4 and T3. I wouldn't want my TSH to be any higher than 1.55.

T4 and T3 should be in the upper third of the ranges, but yours are in the lower third, so lowering the further is not desirable...

You risk being pushed over the edge into hypothyroidism. I am confused at what point your doctor would consider your results to be normal, and to then take you off carbimazole (carbimazole isn't a lifelong drug).
