I was also wondering does anyone else use basal body temp to gauge their thyroid function?? I know temp can be tricky for females so was told to wait till 1st day of my cycle and check every morning for at least four days with an old fashion thermometer and read temp for ten minutes upon waking laying as still as possible. My bbt has been 36, 36.1, 36 and today just a stroke under 36 (so 35.9 I guess)
Can you also look at my latest blood results please? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

What concerns me about the article is the statement "While most people are aware that the standard body temperature is 98.6 degrees F .......". That dates back to an erroneous assumption of some 150 yrs ago; and two much more recent studies, the latter of some nearly 18,000 people, showed that there is no such single standard; that in fact the natural healthy temperature for individuals, is specific to them. So tracking one's own temperature and deviations from one's own "norm" is useful; but trying to attain a mythical single pan-population standard, is not.
I think tracking ones' pulse/temp is useful when first introducing thyroid hormones, thereafter it doesn't become necessary - unless of course we feel cold, too hot or pulse is too high.
