Im going crazy with itchy eyeballs for the past couple of weeks... i also have sore throats and way too much clear spitting or phlegm. I was better this morning till I took my Eltroxin .50mcg. Is it possible to have developed an allergy to my thyroid replacement therapy. Or is this all some kind of freaky cold or flu?

Hi Lily, I have similar symptoms with dry cough, sore throat, some phlegm, lost voice. I take omeprazol for silent reflux already and these are my original symptoms. I’m seeing my GP to see if omeprazol can lose its effectiveness. I’m UA with 125mcg thyroxin.

Thank you for your advice Mollymalone79, but I do not have acid reflex but rather itchy eyes and face and sore throats and allergy type symptoms... I have not changed my TRT .... I have had allergies few years back but never like this where I just want to scratch my eyes off... and of course this makes my eyes very red ...thank you...
Have you recently changed brand of Levothyroxine?

Sorry it's taking me so long to reply, but no, same company and same dosage.. Does anybody else have a dog... I was wondering this very morning if I could be allergic to my dog's dander. She sometimes sleeps in my bed. The symptoms are so very much all the same as a big time allergy. Thank you so much for your help. I'll let you know if omeprazol will help me or other...
I was prescribed Ketotisen but I haven't been able to pick up my prescription yet. In the meantime, I have been doing some research for reviews or side effects. I also searched Similasan and Patanol. Let me tell you that the side effects do not make me rush over to get my prescription.... 😭 Instead of going any farther, I'd rather just share the following find. Hope this helps as much as it's helping me. Thank you.... webmd.com/drugs/2/drug-9384...
Just to let members know, the problem with what is called dry eyes ... watery, itchy, sneezing etc., I'm happy to tell that it has been resolved. It seems that eating chia (organic) Vitamin B complex, Vit A&D and Omega 3+ may have helped. Once it cleared for me, I skipped days taking one or the other. I hope this helps someone.. Oh, I have to add that I switched face lotion as even though it was great for me for years, it may just be that I'd developed an allergy to it so I'd rather not say which one but it has a pretty name or the word "face" in the name of this lotion. 😊
