Is my husband entitled to his blood results From GP,copy ,of his TSH level . The doc was informed by the thyroid specialist to make sure his TSH was kept under 0.01 as he has had thyroid cancer . He's been feeling a bit poorly lately ,and been told by doc his results are all fine but when he's asked for a copy he has been refused. I'm seriously concerned about this GPS ability as for the last three years he's misdiagnosed me with a lot of health problems . As a result I've changed drs for myself

Has your husband been given levothyroxine alone, or a combination of T3 and T4 (liothyronine and levothyroxine?) It is usual when diagnosed and given thyroid hormones (usually levothyroxine) we don't feel quite well until it is raised slowly. We have a blood test every six weeks, fasting (you can drink water) and allow a gap of 24 hours between last dose of levo and the test and take afterwards. This helps keep the TSH at its highest as that seems to be all doctors look at. Copies of results must also state the ranges to enable members to respond.
B12, Vit D, iron, ferritin and folate should also be optimum.
Hello Shaw's hubby had thyroid cancer eight year ago, totally removed. Took around five yes to get the dose right for him to feel sort of functional. Only ever been treated with levothyroxine. His last visit to consultant about eight month ago she reduced it to from 175 to 150 on alternate days and informed his GP to monitor TSH ,not to go below0.01. GP doesn't monitor t3. Then he gets his full bloods done once a year through consultant. Felt really tired out of sorts lately. Had two blood tests in that eight month period through GP for just TSH and been told all is fine, however I've had copy of my own blood tests which I wrote to you about about a month ago which GP is clearly not picking up on these problems and test results showed abnormalities in blood work,of which I was informed were all fine untill I got a copy and studied it myself.i actually ended up in hosp last week as my c reactive proteins had been high for a year and GP didn't act on it.seriously concerned at what is going on here as I insisted hubby phone up today to get a copy of blood results and he was refused
I always these days ask for a copy of results. Went Friday to see dr about blood tests, asked for a copy when checking in and a copy was brought to me a few minutes later. Good luck in sorting things out.
