I have recently taken a test with moitor my health (thyroid)
Results:- TSH 1.9 (0.7-4.2), TT3 5.6 (3.1-6.8), FT49.5(12-22)
Comment by monitor my health doc. "TSH is the most important... looks like they are the same as NHS docs now any comments?

Looking at previous posts….are you taking NDT or levothyroxine
Results suggest it’s NDT …..or levothyroxine plus T3
When were vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12 last tested
They always have been the same as NHS docs - in fact, I think they are NHS doc. They will certainly have had the same education in med school. They are not, by any means, thyroid specialists. And their comments are not worth whatever it is they're written on.
TT3 5.6 (3.1-6.8)
Is that correct? Surely that is an FT3 range. If it is a TT3 test then the results are worthless.
Sorry I''m having a careless time on PC! Was of course meant to be TSH, and I'm on 0 .75 grains thyroid-s

MonitorMyHealth is an NHS lab at Exeter hospital and they offer a few tests to the general public:
Looks to me you could do with an increase. Your FT4 is under range. How do you feel?
Hey there again :
When taking NDT the T4 can be much lower than when on synthetic T4 - Levothyroxine :
As long as your T3 is proportionately higher than when on synthetics you are going in the right direction.
T3 is the thyroid hormone to track as it is T3 that gives you your wellness and get up and go.
Obviously the timing of when you took your last dose and then had the blood draw may have some bearing on how to read these results.
No thyroid hormone replacement works well until you maintain your ferritin, folate, B12 and vitamin D a optimal levels and I now aim for a ferritin of around 100 : folate 20 : active B12 75++ and vitamin D around 100 - and need to self supplement all on a regular basis.
I think you need to be taking more NDT and would suggest slowing introducing 1/4 grain increments week on week and monitor your temperature, pulse and blood pressure twice daily am and pm while slowly building up your medication.
Once on any thyroid hormone replacement the TSH is the least important of all the results.
The TSH was originally introduced as a diagnostic tool to help identify a patient's unwellness and was never intended to be used once on any form of thyroid hormone replacement.
The guidelines and ranges were introduced to be used with Big Pharma's launch of the synthetic thyroid hormones, T3 Liothyronine and T4 - Levothyroxine.
With NDT you dose to the relief of symptoms and not a blood test result.
Thanks for this helpful and detailed reply as soon as I've finished the dose of thyroid-s I've broken up I shall maybe move on to one grain or -silly me just add one quarter grain already prepared if you understand. I'm trying not to waste any thyroid-s...too preecious . I had thyroid test done at gp(the same time) and THS was 1.7, needlessto say that was all that was checked, I wasn't even asked why my TSH was down from 3.7 (last gp test 2 years ago. I was honest and put on repreat script that I was taking NDT don't like not to tell doc.....no comment fro m doc so I'll just continue. Hope you can make sense of this waffle
Yes I also speak and write waffle quite often - I'm blaming the pigs ??
Anyway - you will likely feel even better when your TSH drops down to under 1 :
Just go low and slow and monitor with your blood pressure, pulse and body temperature.
My pulse and blood pressure remained stable and my temperature rose rom 35.4 to 36.6 and I consider myself " job done " for now - goal posts move with age, and any long term chronic pain, so jus try to keep as mobile as possible and eat clean and do not diet as that too can compromise T4 o T3 conversion.
We are all a work in progress as life gets in the way and sometimes we forget about ourselves and put ourselves on the back burner again.
Thank you very much for your kind and reassuring reply with details how to achieve the desired results!
Love your expression that we are all a work in progress and I am very good at putting me "on the back burner" I'm fighting hard for my own needs just now but oh how hard it is - I'm not a natural fighter, anything for quiet life but that's defeatist
