VitD levels

Anyone ever had a huge rise in their VitD levels? I have Seeking Health VitD3 + K2 (125mcg D3 - 100mcg K2). I tested back in April and my levels were a respectable 87.2 nmol/L and in September 2017 - 82.3).

Retested last week as my FD wanted me to increase my intake with the onset of winter and results came back at 205.8!!!!!! That's a huge increase in that time and worryingly bordering on toxicity. Might explain some symptoms I am having. What the hell???? Not taking any more of the damn stuff

You just took too much. 125mcg D3 = 5000iu

With a level of between 80-90nmol/L (32-36ng/ml), the Vit D Society suggest, to reach their recommended level of 125nmol/L (50ng/ml), that you take 2,500iu.

Rather than

I'd say it's done a pretty good job and it's good stuff. It just needs to be taken at the right dose. This is why it's recommended to retest 3 months after starting D3 then adjust dose accordingly once you've reached the recommended level, and to retest twice a year to ensure you're maintaing the correct level.

I use a 4 spot blood kit that I purchase from Sandwell Hospital in Birmingham. I am wondering if I am having toxicity symptoms, seem to be a little more dizzy and nauseous of late. My results came back last Friday but went straight into my spam folder and I only today spotted them. In the meantime I have still been popping the stuff. They say if you have a level of 250+ it's toxic but I am scared I am already there and have done damage? I have ordered another test to recheck just in case. It's scaring me now. Please someone put my mind at rest :(

You are unlikely to have symptoms of Vit D toxicity with your level and the amount you have been taking - see

vitamindcouncil.org/about-v...

The Vit D Council class toxicity as >375nmol/L ( >150ng/ml)

Another article giving the same level for toxicity
