TSH dropped to 0.03

Have been on 100mcg Thyroxine following Thyroiditis which knocked out my thyroid completely.

This week have been told to reduce to 75mcg Thyroxine as blood test come back:

TSH 0.03 (lab range 0.35 - 5.50)

Free T4 17.6 (lab range 7.0 - 17.0)

Free T3 5.5 (lab range 3.5 - 6.5)

5 years ago my TSH dropped to 0.21, FT4 was 17.8. GP reduced thyroxine to 0.75 and my TSH went up to 1.63 then 2.67 and FT4 was 14.7/14.5 and I felt exhausted like I've never felt before.

I do not want that to happen again.

I know TSH at 0.03 can be interpreted as hyperthyroidism but I have gained weight not lost it (but not regulated my diet as much as previously) and I feel more tired than normal so obviously don't want to be even more tired by taking reduced dose of levothyroxine.

Any suggestions re the drop in TSH and raised TS4?

When feeling ok my readings have varied as follows:

TSH 0.21 -0.4

FT4 10.4 - 17.8 so wide variation.

Thank you everyone.

A TSH result on its own can't be interpreted as anything. It's the FT3 the most important number, and yours is looking quite good. But, if you still feel hypo, then it's not good enough. Refuse to let your doctor reduce your dose purely on the basis of a low TSH when your FT4/3 are still in-range. :)

What are your nutrient levels like? If not already tested then ask for

Vit D

B12

Folate

Ferritin

Then post results/ranges for comment.

I have a low TSH but normal T4

My platelets ate low I have b12 deficiency and have to have injections every 4 weeks. My but D is around 30 and so have to have high dose everyday. Nothing stays in my system.

Any clues?

Your post won't be seen tucked away in a thread that's a month old. It would be best if you started your own thread, include test results and reference ranges, and as much information as possible, and members who can help will reply.

I'm thinking same I thing asSeasideSusie. You may have a degree of poor conversion that getting you vits and mineral spot on may improve though you would need to check whether your FT3 is still in range. But I'm sure it would make you more stable if any on the low side are addressed but SS is the expert on that.
