Does anyone know how many hours does 15mg of ppi stomach inhibitor last per day could it be 12 hours per tablet, I have recently been diagnosed with gastric influx, also recently been diagnosed with Anxiety and my doctor has prescribed me with pregabalin and diazepam, all quite daunting for me as I never have been on any of these medications before, and that's because my thyroid has gone awoll since February, hyper hypo and visa versa, having thyroid blood tests every Six weeks now, other symptoms hair loss, dry skin, blurred vision etc. etc etc, I had radio active iodine at Christy's hospital Manchester to remove my thyroid gland, and for 26 years I. was taking 125mg of Levothyroine with no problems, until this year when my health took a turn for the worst, I have been in hospital on and off for month, lost two and a half stone in just three weeks, I now have many allergies to meds and food, whites of eggs, milk, and blackberries, none of which I had an intolerance to before, would like to hear from anyone else who has had similar experience with thyroid issues, and none of the doctors that I have seen have any answers to why after twenty six years with no problems with my thyroid and being on 125mg daily, to my thyroid going AWOL this year since February, and constant change of thyroxine doses, 100mg 75mg 50,mg and visa versa every six weeks blood tests, I am at present taking 50mg and 70mg alternative days. Also does anyone know if I can safely take all the medicine's that I have mentioned together or different times? All new to me and confusing as also tend to get brain fog recently too, so hard in coping. Thank for reading my script.

I'm sorry I might not be much help. I think however that the thyroid fluctuation may be the result of something else. What investigations have you had? The flare up of allergies suggests some immune system disturbance and the weight loss is worrying.

Also, the medications you've been prescribed seem a bit strange. Diazepam is very much frowned upon, it is both dependency producing and not particularly effective. Pregabilin is used for anxiety, but it's not a first choice. It is used for epilepsy, nerve pain or Restless Legs Syndrome. However, it does cause weight gain.

I'm afraid I might be doing you more harm than good but it seems to me there's miscommunication between yourself and health professionals. Are they explaining things to you. What are they saying? What are you asking them?

I am sorry that you are so ill. I do not have answers only wishing you well again. Let's hope someone with more knowledge will reply to you. Taking all of the medicines you mention would not be for me only without a direct diagnosis why are the doctors expecting you to take them?

Thanks for the advice, I have had blood tests done for deficiencies and all came back clear, amongst various blood tests for other things like adrenaline etc. I went through some sort of menopause In 2010 nothing drastic only heavy periods for about a month nothing else luckily, All these problems with my thyroid only started this year in February, and it's been complicated as my thyroid levels keep going up and down from hypo to hyper and visa versa, and the hormone specialist that I seen at the hospital can't give me any answers to my thyroid issues, so still having to have repeated blood tests every six weeks and I have been so unwell for months now and have been in hospital on and off for about five months this year at different times , I had a mild heart attack to with all the other health issues that I have previously mentioned in my last draft,. I have only recently been given Omeprazole Ppi for my stomach, I have only took it a couple of times not been talking it since, as I have also read up on this kind of meds for acid reflux, trying to find a healthier alternative in trying to ease this dreadfull complaint, I started today to take licorice and oriental chai tea 🍵 in teabag form, just having first cuppa now so I will let you know if it helps as I read that organic licorice is supposed to ease the stomach, we'll see after a few days, lovely to hear from you and the anxiety is also really bad which kicks of the acid reflux and visa versa, I never suffered either before my thyroid crash, keep strong and. Maybe we will find ways in time to ease our burden, I will keep in contact when I find any relief of any kind. Kind regards 😊 x
