A follow up to my last few posts. I was asked to see my doctor after she had referred me to Endocrinologist which was discussed at my last visit when I said I would not reduce my thyroxine. I went to doctors, this time, armed with loads of information to back my case! Doctor showed me letter from endo in reply to her referral. This stated that I was at risk of AF and osteoporosis if I did not reduce meds. I said to doctor how on earth can the person say this and no nothing of me or my blood test results. Adding that what did her referral actually say? This was ignored but discussion took place and I was able to answer every question she put to me. I also gave her my copies of Harmony magazines. There was a silence and then she said that was so interesting and as you are very aware of what is happening with your body and I support you with your decision, BUT I will be keeping an eye on you. 🤔 I replied that I wouldn't expect anything else. Thanks again.

We just have to stand up for our selves and be armed with all the correct information. Why do they(medics) think only they are capable of learning about a particular illness. We all have access to the internet now and thank God for this forum, turned my life around.
It seems that the majority of endocrinologists come up with that 'old wives tales'.
Before blood tests were introduced - no blood tests then - only the skill of the doctor who knew about all of the clinical symptoms, gave NDT and it was adjusted until patient was well. No knowledge of TSH etc then. More concerned with relieving clinical symptoms.
Maybe your doctor will also appreciate a print-out of the following by an Adviser to TUK who is also a scientist and researcher.

The following is from an expert on Thyroid Hormones and this should also enlighten your doctor as well as the Endocrinologist who is warning about catastrophes. They fail to realise their dogmatic views are catastrophic in not enabling patients to recover through outdated views.
What a good result and to have a GP who actually listens, good for you for not giving up.
