Hot sweats
I'm exactly the same, I hate it.
However I have fibromyalgia and my gp always puts the sweating down to the opiods I take. I was only diagnosed with hypothyroidism three months ago, the levothyroxine is not working for me so far.
The symptoms state we should find the cold intolerable but I feel hot and sweat excessively all the time.
That’s what I thought. Cold intolerance , but I’m greatful when I feel a chill. I’m on 175mg thyroxine and it’s keeping me stable. Hiwever I do feel I need something more, What with the hot sweats, andi istill suffer with fatigue, although all my other symptoms have subsided. I feel that the medical professionals do not take hypothyroidism seriously, therefore we need to be more forceful with what we know we need v We need to trust our body’s when it tells us that something is not right.
Have you had FT3 tested as sweats could be caused by over medication? Or menopause? I’ve found taking Menosan sage drops significantly reduced my night sweats from 10-20 episodes a night to maybe 1-3. When they start up again I just restart the drops and find they really help.
You need vitamin D, folate, B12 and ferritin tested, all often too low when hypothyroid
Low B12 can cause sweats
If you have Hashimoto's then strictly gluten free diet is worth trying
Thank you. I will ask doctor for more tests.
For full Thyroid evaluation you need TSH, FT4, FT3 plus TPO and TG thyroid antibodies and also very important to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12
Private tests are available. Thousands on here forced to do this as NHS often refuses to test FT3 or antibodies or vitamins

Medichecks Thyroid plus ultra vitamin or Blue Horizon Thyroid plus eleven are the most popular choice. DIY finger prick test or option to pay extra for private blood draw. Both companies often have money off offers.
All thyroid tests should ideally be done as early as possible in morning and fasting. When on Levothyroxine, take last dose 24 hours prior to test, and take next dose straight after test. This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip, GP will be unaware)
My Dr insists I'm not menopausal yet, I am on a lot of medication for fibro symptoms, mostly pain, which is why the gp always says it's the opioids causing it.
It's hard to know why or what is actually causing it. I feel so self conscious with the excessive sweating that I don't go anywhere, on the very rare occasions I feel well enough. I only leave the house for medical appointments or to see my parents but I'm so unwell at the moment even getting out of bed has become impossible most days.
