I am on one grain of naturethroid. I was reading about splitting your dose and feeling better. If I were to split my dose and take my first one an hour before I eat anything in the morning when would I take my second dose?

You'll need to experiment and see what time suits you best. If you start to feel tired late morning/lunchtime , try taking it then, or late afternoon, or evening.

Just make sure that you take it on an empty stomach, one hour before or 2 hours after food, with a glass of water only.

Thanks, I would just hope the t3 in the afternoon doesn't cause insomnia. I suffer pretty badly from it right now as it is.

It may not. Some people take T3 at bedtime and find it helps them sleep. It's all very individual.

Often T3 will help with sleep, because it will be lack of T3 that's contributing to insomnia. Its worth experimenting as everyone is different.
