There seems to be no end to the weird and bothersome symptoms you get with Hashimotos?!!!

Anyone dealt with tinnitus successfully?

You need to get this checked out properly as tinnitus in one ear can be as a result of a tumour. Don’t want to worry you but this is definitely something to raise with your GP just in case. Take care.

I did go and see a GP but they said I was probably congested. I will bring it up with them again soon.

“Probably congested”??? Did they actually look in your ears to check this? If you ear is full of fluid then they should be able to see this. They should have checked your ears or referred you for further testing. I would go back.

NB I also have tinnitus and have fluid in ears (the fluid has come after the tinnitus which I’ve had for years and years but has made it worse). GP could see the fluid as apparently it makes the ear drum look “dull” I think was the word she used.

Thanks 🙏 I have had it for ages too but it has got much worse recently. What do they do to get rid of the fluid?

Do you know your B12 level ? Tinnitus was the most bothersome symptom in 1000 Pernicious Anaemia sufferers. Alsi how is your T3 level ?

My B12 is a little on the low side but I have been supplementing for 4 months now and have seen improvement. I also did a medichecks full thyroid ultra vit test about 12 weeks ago, which I posted on here. My TSH is always creeping up and unstable. At the time one of the people on here said my T3 is not high enough but that might be because my TSH is too high. So I upped my dose and now need to retest. I did go to the docs about it and they said I could just be congested behind the ear drum?! My ear feels weird like full in an odd sort of way. There is no infection there though.

Hope your T3 has improved for you ... am sure it will help if it has ;-)

I have tinnitus all the time but some things make it worse. Red wine is really bad but alcohol in general. Stress can suddenly make a pure note ring and make me suddenly go much deafer. There is a tinnitus society with tips. Have a google.

I have some hearing loss and now wear hearing aids. I don’t think my tinnitus is anything to do with my thyroid. Like many other things, I think tinnitus can be part of the ageing process.

It’s difficult, but the more you think about it, the worse it seems. Try and distract yourself. You can buy things that help mask the noise.
