I don't know about it being due to acid reflux.

Do you have any thyroid test results to share? If so please post them and include the reference ranges so that members can comment.

You've given no medical information on your Profile. Only your name.

Have you had a recent blood test for your thyroid hormones? Have you been diagnosed with hypothyroidism?

If you've not yet been diagnosed ask GP to give you a blood test to exclude hypothyroidism. Make the appointment for the very earliest, fasting (you can drink water) and if you were taking thyroid hormone replacements you'd allow 24 hours gap between last dose and test and take afterwards.

If you've not been diagnosed this is a list of clinical symptoms. We can have non-specific ones and doctors don't seem to know any these days:-

You need a TSH, T4, T3, Free T4, Free T3 and thyroid antibodies. Vitamin B12, Vit D, iron, ferritin and folate.

GP may not do all of the ones for thyroid but he should test vitamins/minerals. Deficiencies can also cause problems. We have private labs which will do all of the thyroid ones so follow guide given above to get the best results. Doctors seem to only test TSH and T4 and that's not sufficient. He should do all the vits/minerals.

Make sure you are well-hydrated a couple of days before blood draw if you want to get a private test.

Get a print-out of your results with the ranges. Ranges are important for members to comment upon them.

If we're hypothyroid everything in our body is affected from head to toe.

Low stomach acid is common hypothyroid symptom NOT high stomach acid (very similar symptoms but very different treatment)

And how does your doctor know that? Has he tested anything? If it's upper right abdomen just under bottom ribs it can be gall bladder. Have you tried digestive enzymes with meals?
