Diagnosed with Graves 5 months ago. I don't drink alcohol very often but will have the occasional drink at birthdays etc. I am finding that since diagnosed I have a real intolerance to alcohol. I had 2 drinks last night and with an hour had what felt like the worse hangover; followed by chest pain which I assume to be bad heartburn. This morning I feel sick and still have the mother of all headaches.
I've tried to research this but can't find anything. Would really value any advice on this? Is this common with Graves? Many thanks.

Many thyroid patients find they can no longer tolerate alcohol very well, certainly we read about Hypo patients, so it's not beyond the realms of possibility that Graves patients can react the same way.
I had TT for Graves and am now hopeless with alcohol - was never much of a drinker but never touch it now. I have no idea what happens to our bodies but maybe something to do with blood sugar levels being hard to maintain? Any ideas anyone?
I’m in remission from Graves and I only need to have one little glass of wine and it goes straight to my head. I’ve never ever liked spirits and I’ve never been a great drinker. I always preferred a cup of coffee or tea when I got home. My first choice of drink is Prosecco, red wine, white wine - one glass is enough. Two is possible and any more than that and I’d be on the floor.
I have exactly the same since being hypo. I do not have hashimotos or graves, I am on good dose, no symptoms etc. but still can not even look at alcohool... All I can tolerate is the amount of % in Kombucha ;))
