Hypothyroidism and alcohol

I’m 32 and been diagnosed hypo for two years now. I have always drank alcohol quite regularly and celebrated my husbands birthday over the weekend where I consumed a lot of alcohol. The next day I was suffering a headache which didn’t go with paracetamol, this continued the next day and now day 3 I have more of a migraine. I take taken migraleve OTC medication for migraines but no avail. Can this be an intolerance to alcohol? I’m unsure if this can be connected to My thyriod or something completely different? A hangover certainly would last this long, and would usually go after paracetamol.

Rachael3000,

Quite a number of members have found they are less tolerant to alcohol after being diagnosed hypothyroid.

If this is alcohol related it’s my first experience of feeling quite so unwell.
