Hi

Has anyone had a endocrinologist previously and currently prescribe them perrigo 5mcg liothyronine on a named patient basis through the NHS as I have had to come off It due it being blacklisted in the community and the hospital pharmacist only supplies mercury pharma 20mcg but I have severe side affects to it and it makes me really ill as I have intolerances to corn starch, gluten and lactose and the endocrinologist now is saying he isn't confident enough to prescribe me it on a named patient basis so I am unwell on oral t4 after having a sensitive and swelling to levothyroxine tablets so would like to know details of any consultants throughout the UK that have confidence and knowledge in prescribing it on a named patient basis. Thanks

Perrigo sold the product on to Mayne Pharma who have rebranded it Libertas. Could be so very important to write the prescription for the right product! :-)

There have been questions about how available it is - afraid I am not aware of current availability.

Thanks I know this yes, it's still called mayne pharma, I am struggling to figger out which endocrinologists in the uk are confident prescribing it on a named patient basis as I can't really afford to pay private.
