I've not been posting for a while as I've been feeling okay, up until recently. My health has been improved by following the guidance on this site. I have a good endo that I'm going to see, but wanted your thoughts to please:
I am on 2.5 grains Naturethroid (tried to raise, but struggled).
Results are:
TSH 1.06 - (0.35 - 4.94)
T3 3 - (2.63-5.20)
T4 8 - (9-19)
The only real change I've made is that I have started swimming a lot more. I felt okay afterwards, so I kept going, but now I think it's having an impact. Not sleeping well, slightly lower mood etc..
So - do you feel I have to increase my dose to account for my increased exercise?
Thanks for any advice, as always.

Since you are taking a T4//T3 combo your blood results should not be compared to 'normal' ranges of levothyroxin only hypos. The important active FT3 is too low - even halfway thru the range would be nearer 4, so high 4s/5 might make you feel better. I found when adding T3 to levothyroxin that I depleted my FT3 on going back to more daily exercise, so 'a lot more swimming' might have done the same for you. I'd increase your dose, your TSH will go down ( perhaps dramatically to 0.0 something). You will still be converting the T4 element of your 'drug' to T3, so upping your dose will increase T3 by conversion and direct addition. It is possible that the proportion of T4:T3 in your Naturethyoid is not ideal for your body, and you might need extra T3. Are you a Hashi patient, ie likely to have poor gut absorption- since you do rely on conversion are your folate, ferritin, b12 and VitD at optimum levels, plus taking selenium etc?
Thanks for your reply. I am Hashi's and I was religiously taking all my supplements until the last 6 months or so when I returned to work. I think I became complacent when I felt well again. Will start up again.
I did think that my T3 was too low - and had been depleted by the exercise. Insomnia is an issue when I increase my dose - but hopefully that will settle down soon.
