Labs fallen lower after raise

Littledancingtiger profile image

Hi all,

Never experienced this before upped my meds slightly by a quarter of a grain (NDT) retested after 6 weeks but this time my labs reveal I’ve fallen lower than when I tested before the raise which has thrown me. Never had that happen before. Anything to worry about (is this a red flag) or perhaps I do just need another raise and it’s just one of those things?

New labs from this week:

TSH: 0.01

FT4 12.100 range 12-22

FT3 4.96 range 3.10 - 6.80

Old labs from end of June (same ranges):

TSH 0.01

FT4 14.200

FT3 5.76

Testing done under exact same conditions fasting, AM tests within half an hour of same time window. Any insight appreciated!

Forgot to mention I have Hashimotos. Been on NDT about 3 years. Upped meds last time due to slower heart rate and cold extremities.

Then that is probably the answer : you have Hashi's. Levels do tend to jump around. :)

Thanks! I did wonder if just one of those lovely hashis things just never had this happen before after raising so threw me a bit.

It can happen. You probably have less thyroid now, than you did before.

Thank you. The delights of hashis! I’ve been under intense stress and had a nasty virus so I guess that would make sense.
