Test results after 8 weeks on lower dose

Any opinions on these test results?

Dr dropped my dose from 125mcg to 100mcg levothyroxine daily. He put my palpitations down to me being over medicated. Palpitations did stop, so that was a bonus, however I’ve had various other symptoms return. Previous results for FT4 & FT3 we’re top of range & TSH was 0.01

Just wondering why your FT3 is so low?

Yes my worry too. Test was taken early morning, no meds’ for 24hrs as usual, but I was a little shocked at how low they are

Are you taking any other meds and how are your vitamin levels?

No other meds, not sure of the vit levels as they wouldn’t test this time.

What were vitamin levels like previously?

Good for B12, folate, vitD, magnesium. I did have to have some iron, but stopped those a month ago (that’s why I thought they’d test)

Yes, I think they should have tested ferritin. It needs to be around 70 or mid-range for levo to work well it seems.

Hummm I’m now thinking private tests. I had bought some T3 about the same time as my Dr wanted to lower my levo. I haven’t taken it because I wanted him to see what a difference a lower dose of levo would make. Wow what a difference.

It would be interesting to test again in 4-6 weeks to see if it's still the same or whether your thyroid will respond and produce more hormones? I think that's what I might want to know but I wouldn't want to put up with symptoms either so it's a bit tricky.

Not sure I can put up with all the symptoms. But I feel okish, not sure where I go from here

Hmmm, I tend to think it's a good idea to retest in 4-6 weeks if unsure what to do as it gives a better picture. Seems like it's better not to change things if possible as stability is helpful. Have you got a lot more symptoms than before you reduced meds though? I think I would tend toward retesting first before taking T3. That way you'll get a clearer picture and might know what to do next?

I think I definitely need a period of stability. I’ve not really been what I ‘d say ill but I have been feeling light headed and had aches & pains return. I have an appointment to discuss these results with the dr, so I’ll ask for re tests in 6 weeks & for vits to be tested too.

Pretty sure that's what I'd do too.

If your FT4 is optimal I don't understand why your Dr lowered your dose . Palpitations can come from low ferritin (Iron). And low FT3 . When my palpitations where on going my FT4 was on the high and end and mid range both ways . My Iron and ferritin where low . And my FT3 when tested where on the low side as well . Meanwhile you can add some Selenium it helps T4 convert to T3 . Vitamin "D" , B12/folate , Magnesium can also help with palpitations and some fish oil too . When they run labs next make sure they run labs on full iron panel and ferritin , Vitamin "D", B12/folate . Make sure to get a copy . Some labs have patients portals where you can view your lab results and print them out .

Well yes my t4,t3 we’re both high in range. I was having bad palps & at the time I was taking all the supplements you mention. If you look back on my profile, you’ll see past test results. His reason for lowering wasn’t a good one in my opinion, BUT the palps have stopped! So my dilemma now is, were they being caused by the levo or something else?

The next thing I would check out is the fillers in your meds that might cause your palpitations . I hope you find fast resolutions . It's certainly not fun .

Humm I’ll look as I’m sensitive to TEVA,so don’t have it

Maybe you need to take 100mcg and 125mcg on alternate days.
