Hello Friends,

I am a 26 yrs old Male , I was recently diagnosed with Silent/Painless thyroiditis(1 month back). and TSH was very low and T3 and T4 seemed to be ,not so much out of range ,And have undergone Technetium-99m radio uptake test with low uptake-suggested transient thyrotoxicosis and ruled out Graves , I feel kind off lethargic and was prescribed Prop HCL for my pulse rate which was 110, Doctor says it is self limiting and will resolve itself, But i want to know if someone is /had suffered similarly with this condition ?, what is the prognosis for this condition . and how long might it take to feel normal again?

Has GP tested vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12

For full Thyroid evaluation you need TSH, FT4, FT3 plus TPO and TG thyroid antibodies and also very important to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12

Private tests are available. Thousands on here forced to do this as NHS often refuses to test FT3 or antibodies or vitamins

Medichecks Thyroid plus ultra vitamin or Blue Horizon Thyroid plus eleven are the most popular choice. DIY finger prick test or option to pay extra for private blood draw. Both companies often have money off offers.

All thyroid tests should ideally be done as early as possible in morning and fasting.

hi SlowDragon , Thanks for the reply , Vitamin D was low when i last checked, before i got diagnosed with Painless/Silent Thyroiditis and took some 6000 mcu vit d capsules for that one a week for about a month(this was a year n half ago when checked for Vit D) , like couldnt complete the course , and i was diagnosed with P/ST in August 2018 so recently took Calcium citrate+ Magnesium+zinc+ Vit D3(100mg)(recently) supplements for 20 days and Doctor recommended Technetium-99m radio uptake scan to rule out anything else . So wanted to have an outlook of my condition , if any one suffering with same or recovered from Painless/Silent thyroiditis .By the way I live in India , and have access to Endo without needing any recommendation from GPs, so I went to the Endo directly .
