Ha! Ha! Hypothyroidism doesn't cause pain, apparently !

Just got back from seeing a different GP at the surgery and apparently hypothyroidism doesn't cause pain in joints, tendons or muscles, I'm the first patient he's ever seen who says that's one of their symptoms. Maybe he'd like to swap legs for a few days and see if he can get down the stairs first thing in the morning?

Nor was he interested in my Medichecks blood tests because they aren't on the system and so you can't see them on a graph. Now booked in for one at the surgery next Wednesday. The fact my last two GP ordered TSH results have gone up from 1.3 to 2.4 and last week's Medicheck is 4.3 (top of range 4.2) means nothing if it isn't in a pretty picture.

Yes I agree. Let these medics have my whole aching/burning body for 5 mins. Such utter rot they churn out.

Can you add your most recent Medichecks results?

How are your vitamin levels?

Medicheck results from 20th August

TSH 4.43 (0.27 - 4.20)

FT4 15.4 (12 - 22) (report says Free Thyroxine - I presume that means FT4?)

FT3 5.04 (3.1 - 6.8)

Thyroglobulin Anti-bodies <10 (0 - 115)

Peroxidase Anti-bodies 10.6 (0 - 34)

B12 81.5 (25.1 - 165)

Folate 3.51 (2.91 - 50)

CRP 2.65 (0 - 5)

Ferritin 158 (30 - 400)

The Medicheck doctor's report said TSH was over range and I should see my GP, and also said folate was low and I should eat more sprouts, broccoli etc (I already eat *everything* on the list except chickpeas (yuk) and asparagus (even yukkier), though with the recent hot weather I've not been eating many hot meals)

Last tests at GP's

24th April '18

TSH 2.74 (0.3 - 5)

Vit D 68.2 (50 - 250) (despite the heatwave, vit D tablets and all the fish I eat)

25th Oct '17

TSH 1.8 (0.3 - 5)

3rd April '17

TSH 0.93 (0.3 - 5)

All tests early morning, before breakfast and tablets. I've been on 75 mcg since Jan '17, but taking 87.5 Mondays and Thursdays (more often and I got some symptoms back, less and the same). After the medicheck results I increased to 87.5 daily, but will reduce back to 75 until after next week's blood test.

Aches are certainly one of my symptoms, and I was relieved when they've started to subside a few weeks after my recent updose.

Wow. I am amazed at these people's lack of knowledge. Even if the doc hadn't heard of it he could actually listen to his patient and take a look at the bloods.

It makes me SO angry when I read stuff like this. I'd change my doctors as I would have no faith or trust in them anymore. After my recent visit to my docs I have decided not to use my surgery for appointments and use Push Doctor instead. Then source my own T3 and T4.

I hope you get the help you need.
