Blue lips - any idea what is happening?

My lips have often gone blue when cold since i was a child but they have recently gone blue on occasions when warm and after exercise or when sat in the office but not cold.

GP is arranging a 24hr ECG to see if anything is happening heart wise. my blood pressure and random ECG were fine.

Anyone experienced this please? any clues? is it a hypothyroid symptom?

I'm not diagnosed but have various unexplained possible hypo symptoms. My endocrinology appointment got postponed so still not seen anyone other than my GP who thinks i am mad (who isnt?) or just depressed (sometimes)

It's usually a sign of low blood oxygen levels or poor circulation

This is what the NHS website says about blue lips

Blue lips, skin, tongue (central cyanosis)

Blue or blue/grey skin on the face or over most of the body is usually a sign there's not enough oxygen in the blood because of a problem with the:

•lungs – like asthma or pneumonia

•airway – choking, or croup

•heart

•seizures (fits) that last a long time
