TSH 0.01, down from 2.13. (0.4 - 4.2)

Free serum T4 18, up from 8 (12 - 22)

Only change since last test was: Teva brand of Levo changed and increased by 25mcg.

I feel good with plenty of energy to live life.

Will my doctor try and decrease?

Will my doctor try and decrease?

He may want to due to your TSH being so low. However, if he does then point out that your FT4 is 60% through it's range so doesn't indicate that you are overmedicated - say that would be over range if you were (that's not strictly true, it would need FT3 to be over range to be overmedicated but they're unlikely to test that). Also tell him that you are feeling much better and if your dose is lowered you will be back where you were and symptomatic again.

You are fortunate that you can take Teva brand with no ill effects, there are many here who have awful side effects with that brand.

Hi, no, Teva was changed to a another brand, Actavis. That seems to work for me. Thank you for the advice and if he calls, I will tell him that. x

Ah OK, I read that incorrectly. I use Actavis, have done for years and have no problems with it.

It seems to me (in retrospect), I felt worse on Teva than before my diagnosis and my bloods seemed to have confirmed that it wasn't working all that properly on me. It was my GP's idea to change the brand and for that, I am thankful.

The only other change I had 2 weeks before my previous test, I had the Mirena fitted. Reading another post of the effects of Progesterone and Thyroid meds, (by Jollypolly) makes me wonder if that had an impact on this latest test.

I seem to get on with this change of brand! I never would have thought it, if not for the personal experience.

Thanks again, Susie.

Hi Mino40,

I’m so glad you are feeling well. Did your doctor allow you to keep up your dose even with the low TSH? I’m hoping to up the dose despite low TSH. I’m so glad you have that whizzy feeling that comes with energy! Good luck with your running.
