What do you think of this:?

I'm wondering if Somatic Experiencing by Dr Peter Levine and/or The Trauma Release Process by David Berceli might help.

There is another tube video showing scientifically how meditation works.

It talks about meditation acting as a brake on the vagus nerve (same as this video).

You have to practise every day but eventually you can become very good at using this brake.

I will try post a link when next on my computer

Yes. I have been doing TRE exercises for almost a year now and can see a significant difference in the way my body responds to stress now and the way I interact with myself. There is no doubt in my mind this is a really important aspect of dealing with Hashimoto's and autoimmunity in general because mind and body and not two separate entities and influence each other all the time.

Brilliant news. Thanks for sharing your positive experience. I'm sure it will give us hope and help on our health journey. <3 xxx

Do you use the internet, book and/or video to find the TRE exercises?

I found a certified teacher and would definitely recommend doing it with somebody who has experience of guiding you through the process. The exercises are simple enough but there are quite a few aspects of applying them and just managing your expectations and responses which the videos or reading about it will not prepare you for. Just getting through a mental block of accepting tremors and shaking as normal can be difficult at first and it helps to have somebody you can ask questions throughout. I am still learning though for me TRE has become very much an internalised process - my body shakes pretty much whenever it needs to - but my teacher still has a few tricks up her sleeve when we meet 8-)

The next step is reprogramming your brain and subconscious to keep the nervous system calm ...
