Tessica, it doesn't matter unless either one makes you feel unwell. Actavis only do 50mcg and 100mcg so you can only get Mercury Pharma or Wockhardt 25mcg.

Thanks for explanation. To be honest I just would not recognise if the tablets themselves are making me unwell because I have felt unwell for most of the last 20 years since I was diagnosed hypo☹️. Trying to get to grips with it all since I found this forum and hoping for better times ahead after I have my first Endo appt.
Tessica, what should be avoided is a switch of make everytime you get a new prescription filled. I don't do well with Mercury Pharma Levothyroxine so my pharmacist knows not to dispense it as I'll only accept Actavis & Wockhardt.
Good luck with the endo appointment.

Yes I agree. It does t really matter as long as you stick with it and don't chop and change
My 25mcg changed from Mercury to Wockhardt which concerned me but i did not notice a difference.
HI yes it made me feel sick and much worse on mercury pharma..I ok on activa and wockhurt. Its the fillers in the make that can effect you if youre affected. I stick to activas and have been trying to reduce from 75 mg Levothyroxine to 50mg
I used to think it mattered because I would try one brand and get this and that symptom and put it down to a side effect of that brand. Now I know it really does not matter. People say one brand might do this or that because of the fillers. Well I researched those and they were virtually the same in all three brands and in many other medications people take daily. Seems to be that if you get so called side effects they are often really symptoms of what is going on with you and not being addressed. For example. I had a few months were I coughed a lot, and wheezed, it is easy to say ooh dear these tablets are doing this, but it turned out to be that my thyroid had brought on my asthma again and that went away when I took some steroids, it had nothing to do with which tablets I took.
It made a difference in my case. I was perfectly happy on Forest Pharma's Levo for 5 years. Then Activis bought them out and I had to change to the Levo they were making (presumably in the same facility - should have been the same). I had two years of Hell on the Activis Levo and ended up not wanting to see another Levo as long as I lived. I had a strange reaction eventually, each morning I dreaded taking that pill because I felt it was poisoning me. I now can't wait to take my NDT (Armour) because within half an hour I can't wait to jump out of bed and get into life.
