My thyroid was removed by the NHS in 2014, I finally got to see an endocrinologist 14 months after I managed to after a years battle to get myself on to Armour but my GP attempts to block this constantly as they make no money from this, they want me to be sick by taking thyroxin T4 drug only that my body has no hope of converting in to T3, also T1 & T2 never even get considered but with Armour you get the lot, they just bang on about the cost even though Armour is cheaper, I'm looking for someone in America who can help me with my prescription as they are threatening to take it away from me, so I not have any control or basic human rights as to what I put in my body?

It's rather doubtful you do get T2 and T1 in Armour because the thyroid only makes teeny tiny amounts. Most of it comes from conversion of T3 and rT3. Would the small amounts survive the process of making the dried thyroid into a pill? No-one knows. But, it's rather doubtful.
It might be that for some of us our bodies are more conducive to an 'animal's thyroid gland' being processed to make NDT rather than synthetic levothyroxine. I couldn't recover on levo at all - in fact was far worse than before diagnosis. I am well now on T3 and many on the forum find NDTs suits them best.
Tell your GP you will write to Lord who has taken up the cause for the removal of T3 from patients. The fact is that the Associations have now False Statements to get the withdrawal of NDT in the UK. One of our Advisers wrote the following to the Associations and for the following three years a reminder. They never did respond before his untimely death.

I know it is mainly about T3 but there has to be exceptions to the rule and we are dealing with replacement hormones - not medications - and no harm in trying as I know many source their own.
