Medicheck results?

I was wondering if anyone has been able to get their Medicheck blood results faxed through to their Doctors surgery? They have refused to do it for me saying its to do with confidentiality, but surely if I have written and requested it they can't refuse.

Any ideas???

Do you mean asking Medichecks to fax them through?

You ordered the test, they deal with you so they will not give your results to anyone else.

Why can't you take or send a copy of your results to your GP surgery?

Sorry if I sounded presumptuous, but my Doctors surgery won't accept or work with the results unless they are faxed direct from the Lab...

It may have something to do with the Data Protection Act. I think your dctor is making an excuse not to accept your results. If you print their results it's then like on headed notepaper with all Medichecks details.

Hi

I think your surgery is being awkward.

The whole point of having private bloods is that we, the patient gets to see our results without being fobbed off as they are normal by the GP.

I suspect they hate the fact patients are getting more savvy on things health wise.

The order for bloods and payment comes from you.

I have printed my results off once emailed to me, and took it to my GP it’s on headed medi checks paper as SeasideSusie says.

Not many people fax anymore. If they will not accept you taking them in yourself, this is what I would do, a bit extreme but hear me out.

Print out an address label from your computer with your GP surgery address, and pop your results in the post.

Tell your GP they have sent them in the post. A bit Extreme but hey the things we do to get noticed.

Best wishes & Good luck.

Can't you just forward or email the results to your surgery 🤷‍♀️

I took a copy of my Medichecks to my GP appointment but wasn’t asked to leave it.. I had already handled a copy to the receptionist though asking for it to be scanned onto my records.

Thanks, will be taking to GP, but good idea to get receptionist to scan to records. Keeping fingers crossed, I get the impression from the whole practice that when you ask for something, we're questioning their abilities, especially the doctors, do we have gods roaming this earth???

It certainly seems that many doctors have a god-like complex. They don't like being questioned, they don't like it when the patient has knowledge of their conditon and they don't like discussion in my experience. Fortunately we have an Advanced Nurse Practioner at our surgery who does listen and likes to discuss things, I much prefer to have an appointment with him than the GPs.

Not what you're looking for?
