Can anyone suggest a well tolerated, good iron supplement for me please? I've been using ProThera Iron Chelate, but it's out of stock and I don't know where else to get it.
Solar Gentle Iron did absolutely nothing for me. Even doubling up on them.

ProThera Iron Chelate lists the iron content as Ferrochel Ferrous Bisglycinate Chelate, dose 30mg. Ferrochel being a "brand name" of iron bisglycinate from Albion Nutrition.
Solgar Gentle Iron is either 20mg or 25mg but there are other brands of iron bisglycinate you could try.
This one has 30mg iron bisglycinate dolphinfitness.co.uk/en/hea... It's not a recommendation as I don't take iron tablets, just a suggestion, you may be able to find others.
I've used gentle iron by Solgar for years and never had any reaction. I do have issues with some additives in supplements and regularly pass things on to others...
My ferritin has gone up but it has always been slow to raise so hard to judge. I first had ferritin below range in 2006 and always struggled to get the level up, the highest it has been was c.80.
Have you found any supplement that works better to raise the level than gentle iron?
I’ve struggled with ferritin levels for years, but didn’t really realise it. First flagged as a problem by a trichologist when I went to her about my hair loss. I was in my late 30’s then.
I’ve been trying to get levels up again for a year or so. I was taking 2 of the gentle iron a day, with 1000 vit C, but it went down from about 38 to 36! Now I’m taking the chelate with vit C, the BetterYou Iron spray, which I’m hoping will help as it’s membrane absorption, and I’m eating pate, black pudding and anything else that looks rich in blood! Might have to become a vampire!
