It is most likely swollen lymph nodes as you body fights the infection from the cold you have, rather than cancer. I think cancerous lumps are not usually painful but swollen lymph nodes can be. Hope that helps.
Not usually - just a sign your body is doing its job fighting infections
This has a good picture of where they are in your neck and info about different conditions relating to them. Might be of interest I have notreadthe info it was more the picture and what they are draining/protecting
Sounds like it I was forever ill with chest infections colds sore throats, before treatment, with swollen lymph nodes esp under my ears very painful and the back of my neck. I never get them now
I used to take soluable aspirin if I had temperature/sore throat and sinutab if my sinuses were involved but otherwise I just suffered it and ate lots of raw garlic. I tried not to scratch the swollen nodes. pineapple juice (if you can get it) is very soothing and papaya to eat.
Strange that you cannot get aspirin. The raw garlic side effect is you smellvery strongly of it so if no one else is eating it you will smell unpleasant to them! Some say eating parsley takes away the odour. It reduces blood pressure so is not advisedif you are on any blood pressure medicine but otherwise it is safe and has at least2 naturally occurring antibiotics so helps fight some illnesses
It is not that important to eat garlic you might put it in cooking - raw is very harsh but it does help me if I get a cold! I take aspirin because a doctor said it was better than suffering. I think disprin is similar. It comes from willow bark originally even the ancients used it as medicine. Some here make a hot drink with lemon juice and honey to help sooth sore throat and made headache less painful you can add ginger too
