Sorry no one's responded - most are more knowledgeable on hypo rather than hyper and I don't know that much to be honest. You can repost the thread tomorrow as if often depends on who's online at the time and the post then slips lower and gets missed.
T4 is too low, T3 is better but could do with being a little higher. However tsh is not indicating the body thinks it's lacking thyroid hormone at the moment.
I don't know much about PTU but I do know that carbimazole can take up to 8 weeks to work in the first place so imagine it can be the same reversing it and I take nearer 8 to 12 weeks a change in my thyroid doses to take full effect???
I'd be tempted to wait until September but as mentioned, I don't know much about hyper or those meds so best to wait for someone more experienced
How was he diagnosed in the first place - what were his results and did they check antibodies etc?
Thanks for replying. He was diagnosed in February with Graves and had antibodies tested. So he is feeling quite well now but we are worried that he might go hypo so as the levels are close to hypo. Unfortunately his endo is a bit useless and we don’t trust her. Thanks to info found on this forum and Elaine Moore advice, he adjusted his dose himself 3 times and was able to avoid RAI and thyroidectomy as he wasn’t tolerating his drugs well due to too high dose given. I might ask Elaine what she thinks.
