Hi. I have just got the results of a recent thyroid test I had done with medichecks. I would be really greatful if anyone could let me know if there’s anything on them that would explain the depression I suffer from. I can see that I’m deficient on vitamin d and I can correct that, however I can’t understand an elevated tsh when my thyroxine is normal. Many thanks in advance. Mandy.

Hi Mandy1957
I’m no expert as I’m relatively new to this forum, though diagnosed hypo 2012, but your vit D is extremely low and this will be adding to your problems. I know I felt pretty awful when mine was v low.
Your doctor needs to give you some massive loading doses before you start taking a maintenance dose, which will be much higher than the suggested daily recommended requirement.
Your ferritin is too low as well but I’m sure someone else will advise you about that.
Hope you start to feel better soon
Your thyroxine is 'normal' but your FT3 is low. You aren't converting, and that's why your TSH is high and you have depression. It's low T3 that causes symptoms, not TSH or T4.
Also, your folate and ferritin are both much too low. So, not surprising you don't feel good.
Thank you so much for all the help. I had no idea how to interpret the results, I really appreciate you taking the time to reply. I’m going to consider either getting t3 or ndt or both and iron and vit d supplements, hopefully I will get back to being my old self again.
