Cryotherapy?

Has anyone tried and had success with cryotherapy?

I’m booked in for a 3 minute whole body and 10 minute localised treatment on Monday. I understand it can help reduce inflammation and has other benefits

Hi, thought I would investigate a bit. I ignored the sites advertising their cryotherapy services, as they would of course be biased. Wikipedia simply said that there was no firm scientific evidence, which wasn't much help. This (below) was the best attempt at a proper investigation that I found:

wellnessmama.com/120789/cry...

They did however say: "anyone with a health condition should check with a doctor before attempting this or any other therapy".

I would think that anyone with a heart condition, hyperthyroidism, or someone with Hashis having a hyper flare-up might be at risk.

Did they ask about any medical problems when you booked? Do they have someone with paramedic training there at all times?

I would think, check with the doctor and if he says (a probably cautious) OK, go for it but take care

Thanks but if I relied on doctors I’d still be bedridden!

I’m researching and trying many different remedies to help improve my health.

Ice packs and ice baths have been used a lot and recommended by physiotherapists for recovery.

I have inflammation in my muscles and joints so hood this might help. So going to give it a try and see if it works. I’m curious about any new treatments and it seems to work for a lot of ppl.

I’ll report back on my experience

There are a lot of quacks out there, as well as quite a few bad doctors. But there does seem to be genuine science behind cryotherapy. It sounds like an extreme version of the cold bath after a sauna.

Enjoy!

Hey, how was the cryotherapy?

Excellent the most obvious outcome is that my migraine has eased. Thyroid / neck swelled up after but has eased off now but I’m in the middle of a flare. So who knows what is coincidence or result? However I’d definitely go again but colder next time to get the best results I can as it’s not a cheap treatment

Don't think I'd have the nerve to try it - hate the cold!!

Tbh it didn’t feel as cold as I thought as I like to be warm rather than cold ⛄️
