Pain while taking vitamin b complex

Hi, has anyone else suffered with severe abdominal pain whilst taking b complex? It doesn't happen everyday, probably 5 times in 30 days. It starts in my tummy and goes up to my chest and lasts about 10 minutes but makes me feel really rough all day.

Catpurple7,

I don't understand why you would experience discomfort 5 days out of 30 when you take it everyday. If the discomfort resolves completely having stopped taking the B Complex you might want to consider taking a different brand.

I think it might be the niacin in it as I bought some flushing niacin last year and that gave me severe abdominal pain aswel as 2 hr flush lol

What brand of vitamin B complex are you taking? And when do you take your vitamin B complex?

I'm using Jarrow formulas b -right and I normally take it with my 1st meal along side b12, vitamin d3 and k2

Vitamin B3 can cause stomach pain particularly in those who have ulcers.

The only other thing you could have a problem is the cellulose around the supplement but then you wouldn't be able to take the rest of your supplements.

Also thinking it is the niacin (Vit B 3). I get stomach pain when i take it for about 15 mins. I take 50mcg every so often to get that flush effect because i heard it is good for us. So while i am getting hot i also get a stomach ache.

Since been doing some reading and niacinamide is actually a better bet than niacin as it causes less inflammation.

Jarrows formulas B-right contains two forms of it - niacinamide and nicotinic acid.

They are both considered to be niacin according to the bottle label.

Does the directions state that you have to take it with food. I know quite a few supplements do so.

Hi I took Jarrow B right tablets. I did ok for about a month or 6weeks then started getting really fast heart beats shortly after taking. Tried with and without to test and it certainly was that causing it

I felt it was too strong s dose

Mot sure what to do for the best now as I certainly need B 12😩

Hope u get there
