I went back on Thiroyd because of long standing depression, inability to lose weight and impaired sexual function. The doctors I've seen only want to prescribe levothyroxine. Started NDT slowly, and am now up to .75 grains twice a day. The past three days my already poor sleep has worsened. Go to bed at 10:30, wake up at 3 or 4. I'm also suddenly experiencing loose stools. No change in diet(Mediterranean style eating) and don't believe it's a gastro bug. I don't feel overstimulated and feel chilly most of the times. Low morning body temp; 96.7(I'm in Florida and the air conditioning cycles on and off all day & night.) BP varies between 110/70 to 130/80 most days. I'm thinking of trying a morning dose of 1% hydrocortisone. Took Thiroyd several years ago, getting up to 2 grains. Lost 8 pounds but mood and sexual function didn't improve. Considering T3, of which I have a liquid version. Thanks for any insights. Latest labs, prior to resuming NDT.
Louise, it seems like ages ago when I wrote that post. Actually doing somewhat better. Found out my testosterone was near the bottom of the the lab range and I'm back on daily shots, upped my NDT to 3 grains after a few weeks on 48 mcg of T3 and not feeling it. Mood is much better. Also using progesterone, orally, for sleep, and topically as part of testosterone replacement therapy. We're currently in Maryland where it's rainy and chilly, but I'm warm all the time and still wearing my Florida wardrobe; shorts, t-shirt and flip flops. My wife thinks I'm crazy, as do some of our neighbors when they see me, LOL! We'll be going back to Florida in a few weeks.
The banner on your page is most romantic. My wife and I are in the process of reconnecting. We've been through rough times over the past few years.
