Overactive thyroid
Hi Avaanis, I'm sorry to hear your not feeling too good. When I first started on 20mg carbimazole and also propranolol I have found it messed with my digestion, At the beginning I had the same problem as you but also very nauseas and had a lot of indigestion which would last for 3/4 days at a time.
As your soon to go on holiday I would speak with your gp and explain your symptoms, you may find it passes as your body gets used to the medication, my gp gave me anti sickness and indigestion tablets but me being me wanted something more natural so opted for hot water and ginger and ate peppermints when I couldn't eat meals and stripped my diet right back. for me sugar and dairy really irritated it and I went gluten and soya free too through all advise on this site (I'm not allergic to any of them but I feel it helped), I hope this stage passes for you quickly and you can enjoy your holiday 😊
Please post thyroid test results that diagnosed overactive thyroid. Include antibodies results and lab ranges. We might be able to at least explain your results.
I never got any of my results from my doctor
Are you in England? If so, you are entitled to your results and can register through GP surgery for online access to blood test results. If your bloods were taken at the hospital, contact endo's secretary and request a copy. Just say, you're going abroad for holidays and need to take a copy with you in case you need to see a doctor while there. In future, make a habit of always asking for a copy of your results and taking copies to your next appointment if you need to discuss results.
When you have a copy of results then post them here for help. Make sure you get a printed copy of results that include the lab ranges.
