My success story

I am writing on here to say to everyone please don't give up in your journey for better health.

It took a lot on my part to tell my GP that I did not do at all well on higher doses of Levothyroxine since diagnosis of primary hypothyroidism in 2010 and he has agreed to monitor me on T3/Levothyroxine combi therapy if I buy it online.

The difference in me is just beyond words - I can think more clearly, I am no longer straining on the toilet, not tired, periods lighter - and the best thing about it is, my levels are holding steady.

There is light at the end of the tunnel. xx

Great news. How long have you been on combination therapy?

Thank you very much. I have been on the combination therapy since March 2018 and before that back in November 2015. It took me a while to feel better when first on it and I did give up altogether due to some personal problems which did leave me feeling very down, but I have now gone back to combination therapy and feel so much better for it :)

Great, well it shows that it can take a little time to get it just right. Worth persevering then.

Yes, absolutely. It really wasn't worth beating myself up over my own problems and I was not in a good place at all. But I decided I won't be much good to anyone if I remained ill and so I picked myself back up.

Fantastic news

I’m adding T3, and I hope my GP is supportive like yours.

Best Wishes

Hi! Well he recognised the need for T3. He told me my Free T3 was only just in range on Levothyroxine alone and I thought if the endo isn't going to help me then I'm going to help myself - with or without him! :D

I had some personal problems and I was so down and depressed I gave up and went back to Levothyroxine - I'd gotten into a state of really not looking after myself and I was in a rut. Now I am glad I went back to combination therapy. :) Hope your GP supports you :)

Hi LisaLeigh. That is wonderful news and certainly gives me hope. What combi of levo and t3 have you found works for you and did you adjust the dosages gradually? x
