Feeling hopeful

Hi there everybody , I’m new to this site and finding all your posts so helpful ! I’ve just had private bloods done and am awaiting results having got nowhere despite almost every symptom of low thyroid mentioned .... keep being told you’re just in normal range so you’ll have to just “manage” !!! So hoping theses tests lead to me getting some help as don’t want to feel like a giant slug for the rest of my life !!!! Looking forward to sharing my journey with you all and relieved to find a safe site to join in both to support and be supported 😊👍

Welcome to our forum and I am sure you will receive lots of helpful responses when you next post your results, with the ranges. Ranges are important as labs differ and use different machines.

Just know it’s a full thyroid profile .... that according to the therapist I’m seeing covers everything !! I had to show her my past 5 years blood test results from my GP and she was already shocked I hadn’t been offered anything before now .... so we shall see ! Sorry I don’t have all the right lingo yet .... the numbers and scales are all new to me as for the past ten years I’ve just been told I was just in normal range despite all my symptoms , I guess I was naive not to challenge it until now but you think they know best don’t you until you wake up one day and feel enough is enough and seek alternative routes to better health x

So that would be a Private Test ? You can arrange your own Private Testing through the main website of this Forum at Thyroid UK ... see link below. Go to the Menu and click onto About Testing - where you will find companies that send out Testing Kits to your home. May work out cheaper for you - used by 1000's here in order to get the correct testing and treatment. You can then report back with the results in a new post for people to comment. Will your Therapist understand the results - and do ask what is being tested.
