I think we need a lot more information before anyone can help you.
Do you have the rest of your results?
Have you been on 50 mcg since Dec 2017?
Are you gluten-free to reduce your antibodies?
Do you take selenium?
Have you had your vit D, vit B12, folate and ferritin tested?
Thank you
I have been on 50 since Dec
Not gluten free
No selenium told I didn't need it
Will post vits
So, why hasn't your doctor increased your levo since December? Did he give an explanation? I take it that the labs below are the latest - when were they done? Your TSH is over-range and your frees are at the bottom of the range, so not surprising you have symptoms. What did your doctor say about those results?
Why did he test selenium? That's not a normal test to do.
Thank you
It is because I keep sweating and losing weight that there is no increase
Selenium was tested because of possible deficiency
But why did he suspect a deficiency? Doctors know nothing about nutritional deficiencies.
Sweating and losing weight are hypo symptoms. You need an increase in dose. Surely even a moronic GP can't think you're hyper with a TSH of 4.75!
I wasn't eating properly at the time
TSH 4.75 (0.2 - 4.2)
Free T4 12.9 (12 - 22)
Free T3 3.0 (3.1 - 6.8)
According to these results you are undermedicated as your TSH is above the lab range, return to your GP and ask for a dose increase. Also, ask for your vitamin D, B12, folate and ferritin to be tested. Many are low in vitamin D and you need to have it checked. Do you work from 9-5, never get out into the sun or always cover up in the sun? If in the UK, vitamin D deficiency is very common and even more so when hypothyroid.
Thank you
I work 9-5 but do not cover up in the sun. I am sensitive to the sun and I burn easily even with sun tan
Well, if you don't get enough sun at mid-day in the summer and you work 9-5 then tell the doctor as it may help you to get your vit D levels tested. What are your symptoms? Could some of them be related to low vitamin D? Write down ALL your symptoms and give copy to your doctor.
