Why not take it with your 3pm Thyroid-S or is there a reason you are separating the doses of your NDT and T3? Or could you take it at bedtime?

What with timing of meals, drinks and supplements, it's going to be hard fitting everything around your thyroid meds if you add your T3 a few hours after your 3pm NDT.

I was only separating them so much because I have bad anxiety and I’m terrified too make it worse... maybe I could try..

2 grains at 7am

20mcg T3 at 12.oclock

I grain and the additional 10mcg T3 at 5.oclock?

Or should I split the extra 10mcg ,too minimise the possibility of increased anxiety?

Tanya

I don't have any experience of anxiety so I'm not sure whatever I say will help.

I take my T3 all in one dose early morning. I also take my Levo early morning. I used to split the T3 but found it a pain trying to fit the second dose around eating and drinking etc, and I found no difference between splitting it and taking it all together.

All I can suggest is that you try the timing you have suggested and see how it goes.

Is there any reason you are taking the NDT and T3 so staggered throughout the day? I've opted to have my levo and T3 at 5-6 am( then back to sleep) and 6 pm, to fit meals/ drink, and various supplements like iron/ Vit D. You can take the NDT/T3 together; I have read taking T3 at bedtime is good as it has time to get to receptors, but that conflicts for me with other drugs.

Hello Judith this is really interesting because I am finding it difficult to fit in 4 separate doses of T3 and then iron and magnesium 4 hours away having been advised by consultant not to take it in the evening or it will disturb my sleep. I had assumed taking it at 5 am would mean no sleep afterwards but clearly you do sleep. Thanks for the post.

Try it at a weekend when if you are kept awake it won't matter so much - but no I sleep easily again at 5-6 am.

I was staggering it because I don’t want to risk my anxiety getting any worse and I thought you have too stagger T3 as it’s a harsher medication and quick acting.

I found after about a month on full 25 mcg T3 I was not getting the high Bp/ pulse, so presume as I got used to it it did not have that powerful kick it first seemed to have. Decided to try changing my 6 pm dose to c 3 pm- still fell asleep by 4 pm, be interesting to see if tonight I fall asleep before 2 am. Still think I need more T3 but being patient till I get blood test ..
