TSH rises in hypothyroidism so 0.4 doesn't show a problem but you need to test T4 and T3 for a better idea.

At this time I cannot test for t4 and t3

But i wanna ask if the tsh is low means it is not problem like hypothyroidism .

does this mean if it low it considered Hyperthyroidism ?!

Frankly, it doesn't mean anything at all without the other tests. So, can't answer that question. :)

Thank you for your response

The doctor was very interested in this test and he thought i could have problem with my thyroid so if tsh did not mean anything why he was satisfied with it and he did not do t4 and t3 I really got angry because of him very disappointed 😭💔 now i am concerned about my health I thought I didn’t have problem because of what he said for me 🤦🏻‍♀️

I didn’t now about t4 and t3 and how they are more important than tsh

I'm afraid the problem is that doctors just know very little about thyroid. They were taught in med school that TSH is all they need to test, but it's just not true. And it's very rare to find a doctor who will question, or go against, what he learnt in med school. And very rare to find a doctor who will try and learn more when he leaves med school.

If you read this post, it might give you a clue as to how useless doctors currently are at diagnosis and treatment of thyroid problems :

It's thought these can reduce the amount of iodine absorbed which would lead to a higher TSH as less thyroid hormone is secreted. I don't have expertise in this area but the impression I get is that the risk is more hypothetical than practical. I believe the risk relates mostly to raw vegetables and that brocolli is safe. I wouldn't worry and carry on with your healthy diet. You could check out studies on PubMed but I personally wouldn't bother. I'm not sure anyone here has expertise in this area such that they could quantify the risks. As long as your TSH does not go high you can be sure your hormone output is not being affected.

So i have to cook them in order to eat them safely?!

I don’t know alot about hypothyroidism

But i wanna know if the tsh is low means it is not problem like hypothyroidism .

No, you don't have to cook them. Just ignore it all. As long as things you eat don't upset you, make you feel ill, just carry on eating them. If you find you start to feel sluggish, cold, fluey a little while after eating them, then you need to find out which one is upsetting you. But, you should also remember : all things in moderation! :)

You can have low TSH and most of us do when we are taking thyroid hormone and be hypothyroid. You do not become hyperthyroid, you are merely over medicated with hormone if your FT3 is over range.

But I didn’t take any thyroid hormones

My TSH has always been about the same as yours (but can't really be sure without the lab range) and I have central hypothyroidism. It is impossible to tell if anything is wrong with your thyroid without a free T4 and free t3 test. With a TSH of 0.001 you would *probably* be hyper and with a TSH of 6 you would *probably* have primary hypothyroidism, but you need to other tests to be sure. A TSH of 0.4 means that your thyroid is *probably* fine, but you can't be sure without testing the actual thyroid hormones.

Do you have any other symptoms like a temperature higher than normal, faster heart rate, etc.? I see your other posts and wonder if this man who really understands hormones can help. I've learned from his many videos on you tube.

Hi and welcome ☺

Are you having any symptoms of hypothyroidism? See this link for a list of symptoms thyroiduk.org.uk/tuk/about_....

It is possible to be hypothyroid with a low TSH such as yours but it's less common.

How are you feeling? Why did your doctor test your TSH?

There is a link between thyroid function and endometriosis. Your doctor might be best checking your thyroid antibodies. You can have these with both hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism.

Good luck.

A TSH that is very low, around 0,1 indicates hyperthyroidism. A TSH of 0.4 is normal. The only risk, I'd barely call it that, is you absorb less iodine and your TSH would go high to around 10.0. At the moment you are perfect, I would not worry and change nothing.

Your tsh should be between 0.5 and 2. Anymore than that you are hypothyroid. As told to me by an endocrinologist.

The foods you mention should be ok if they are cooked. Otherwise known as goitrogens.
