Diagnosed with Hormone fed Breast Cancer should I stop my Liothyronine

Dear all, first time I have ever posted on a forum! I have been diagnosed with BC on Friday they have said its hormone fed and I have been asking my docs for years for hormone tests but hey ho! Anyway I take 40 mcg of Liothyronine a day, no Thyroxine at all - should I stop taking it? I have switched to vegan/alkaline diet almost 2 weeks ago (when I found the lump).

I don't know a lot about this, but the hormone that 'feeds' breast cancer - not quite sure that 'feeds' is the right word - is oestrogen, not T3. I don't think you ought to stop your T3, no.

I had oestrogen fed breast cancer. Now on Letrozole which reduces the oestrogen. I read that these medications affected absorption of thyroid meds so took them 12 hours apart but felt so washed out after radiotherapy, didn't need chemo, that I increased my NDT slightly until I felt more like the real me then dropped the NDT back to what it was. I tend to listen to my body and it helped!

No need. But if you are put on oestogen blockers, you might need a change in thyroid meds. Don't imagine that all oestrogens are bad, either. Some are protective - including flax (which contains phyto-oestrogens).
