Considerate Endo!!!

Wow, saw a new Endo yesterday and had a good result:

1. Reduced my wife's T4 and INCREASED T3 having taken account of a private blood test that showed a DIO2 gene variation, which decreases the 'ability of the enzyme to generate the active T3 hormone'.

2. Discussed why she preferred not to prescribe NDT.

3. Admitted that about 20% of hypo sufferers do not respond properly to T4 and require the combined treatment.

4. Likes to see very low TSH.

At last an Endo who appeared to know what she was talking about.

By the law of averages there must be a sprinkling of decent ones. Very pleased for your wife. Support is paramount.
