Hi everyone. I'm a new be . Underactive thyroid for 12 years, can't remember what it feels like to feel well !! Had full blood test done yesterday as finally went to doctor and told her how I feel and can't go on like this anymore. If this test comes back that all is well , I will stop meds and go to bed and wait for my very own little swiss ending. I'm not good with technology so this may not post. But I have found this site very helpful and you all sound friendly. It gave me the push to go to doctor this time and sit there and cry and tell her I just can't go on like this. Thank you.

Hi sopamhamer1

You’ve come to the right place for support.

Remember you feel like this because you may not be on the correct thyroid medication (dosage)

Have you asked your doctor to take full thyroid and vitamin blood test?.

Did you have the blood test early in the morning and stopped any medication beforehand?.

Are you on any medication?.

Once you get your results post them on here with the lab ranges and the experts will help guide you.

Take care

Best wishes

Hi peanut. I can't believe I've done it (successfully posted) doctor said she would do full blood test !! I'm taking 5ml oral solution Lavothyroxine, as I had bad headaches for 11 years and found it was the tablet form responsible for my bad heads.

Yes you posted successfully, others will be along soon for support.

I would guess you could possibly be under medicated. Once you get your results back it will become clear.

I’ve just started on Levothyroxine after being diagnosed with Hashimoto’s and underactive Thyroid.

The normal process is start on 50mcg of Levothyroxine for 6 weeks then another blood test. TSH, T4 & T3 then an increase of 25mcg, with another blood test in 6 weeks then further increase of 25mcg and so on until your results are ‘normal’ but, most importantly you feel well.

Vitamins are important for the thyroid as well, vitamin D, iron, B12 etc.

Can you give us anymore information on you? Medication, are you taking vitamins.

Did you test any antibodies? (Auto immune disease)

Best Wishes

When I was taking levothyroxine in table form, I was on 125mg but I suffered really bad headaches which nothing would get rid. I've only ever had my bloods done once a year and that was always with the nurse. They've alwasy come back normal !! But I have alwasy felt like I'm a couple of days off getting flu and this has been going on for 13 years. I can go days without eatting and not lose a lb, I want to feel well not ill all the time.

Hey

Extremely sad to read your thyroid makes you feel like you want to end it.

I know doctors in UK are neglectful and negligent but if you take matters in your own hands you'll get better.

I wish I could give you a hug. I know exactly where you're coming from.

Please come back with your blood tests results so we can give you hints and advise what to to next to get you sorted.

Hi trelemorele. Thank you for the hug, just by replying is the biggest hug. I will post blood results as so as. I think I've not helped myself very much as I don't really know as much about this horrible illness. Everyone is so knowledgeable here. But I've had enough of filling ill all these years, and with the help of this forum the doctors are going to listen to me !!
