Havent done blood test yet since started t3 in middle of march. I have noticed that symptoms go away but return so figured needed more t3. Been taking tablet and half of 20 mg thybon

Was prescrined 20mg tablet a day. It worked dry lips disappeared started feeling warmer less constipated nails slightly inproved. Pain in hip gone energy improved. Swelling would reduce for a while but would return. Wouldnt feel warm all the time. Starting to be more constipatee again pelletty.

Took 2 tablets today swelling in arms is lower than have been returning to my old thickness at the moment which was quite thin co.pared to what they have been.

You dont notice this kind of swelling creeping on. Shocked by it now notice it.

Going to see what my swelling is lile in the morning having yaken 40 mg today. This morning i was swollen after taking 1 and half tablet. Have been swollen most mornings but not as bad as i was on no medication. I notice swelling in hands and feet with alot of activity.

The most devastating symptom hairloss worse than ever

Pouring out and no growth hair strands so fine they are finer than a new borns i can see scalp everywhere. Hair really isnt growing. Just getting finer growth has slowed down. 💔

I have ordered test to do. Will havr to take blood myself. No clinic in n ireland.

Hi, if you have been prescribed 20mcg a day of T3 you shouldn't take any more than that without getting tests done as it is three or four times stronger than levothyroxine (T4). I have heard that overdosing can cause the same symptoms as being underdosed (i.e. hair loss etc.). Are you taking levothyroxine as well? If so how much? Usually doctors prescribe a combination of T4 and T3.

It is really important to stabilise your dose and then test after 6 weeks. Don't carry on taking them like candies!!!!!

Also you should get Vitamin D, Vitamin B6, folate and ferritin tested as people with hypothyroidism often have severe deficiencies in these. When I corrected my vitamin levels I noticed a huge improvement in my health. The levels need to be optimal not just in range so why don't you get tested for all that including T4 and T3 and post the results (with the ranges) and the members here will help you get your health and life back.

You can get private tests done - check on this website for details.

Best of luck!

All vitamins are perfect optimal. No t4 t3 only the hair loss has been with me for 2 years before i touched any medication. The t3 isnt a cause of it. Nor.is the swellig as it was here before i took.anything too

T3 can accelerate hair loss, it even states that on the leaflet.

I agree with Max that you cannot just double the dose like that, you can really get yourself into trouble with adrenals
