I can't remember the symptoms of Candida but I got mine checked a couple of years ago along with a load of other tests about the same time, I was trying to rule things out. It was a Genova saliva candida antibody test.
Hi Anniewoz1. You can test yourself by spitting into a glass of water first thing in the morning, (before food and drink).
Then hold the glass up and look to see if there are any tails of spit going down into the water. That tells you that you have Candida. If the spit stays on the surface, then you're in the clear.
I tested my self this morning as I was a bit suspicious. And low and behold I've got it back again. So I'm going to leave out the foods that encourage Candida for three months, plus I will take some grapefruit seed extract (Citricidal). You can also eat plenty of plain yogurt, and Garlic and of course Aloe Vera. They are all Natural Antifungals.
I found the spit test unreliable. I did it exactly as per instrctions, had quite a few tails doing down in the water. Convinced I had Candida so I did the Genova test. Came back very definitely negative for both tests they include. The "negative" result is <10, mine were 1.7 and 4.5
So don't put much store by the spit test, it can be misleading.
Oh ! Thanks. However I did get a lot better when I followed the procedure of removing the foods suggested by Dr Lam for the removal of the Candida, and adding in the Natural Antifungals, also suggested by Dr Lam. (The last time I had a problem )
Personally I can't afford another Genova test as I have only just done a Cortisol Saiva test, (last week), and that was £78. I needed to have another one done for my functional Doc.
But it's very good to hear and know your experience for future times. Thank you !
